This morning, I’m enjoying a cool moment in Yamagata, feeling the arrival of autumn. The beloved 100-year-old grandmother, the face of the shop, kindly peeled chestnuts for me. With heartfelt care, the chestnuts are simmered just a little, becoming a simple yet deeply flavorful chestnut rice.
